The Canva standard platform is and will always be free to use! You can create as many designs as you like and add, edit, and upload as many elements to your designs as you want, all for free.
If you're a power user or just looking for extra features that will make working in teams easier, you can upgrade to Canva for Work. It's a subscription service with amazing features perfect for content creators or professional designers, such as the ability to create a brand kit with consistent colors and fonts, customizable templates, shareable photo folders, resizable designs, and more.
Whether you're using Canva Standard or Canva for Work, you'll be prompted to pay for any premium elements when you publish and download your design. Don’t worry, it’s easy to tell which elements are free and which are premium. Premium elements cost US $1 each. After you download and pay for a design, you can edit and download it as many times as you like within a 24 hour period.
Keep in mind that if you're on a free Canva Standard account and you choose to pay for premium elements, your card will not be charged right away. You will only be charged once you accumulate at least US $10 in payments, or one month after your initial purchase (whichever happens first).
