What file types can I download in Canva?

When you finish a design and it comes time to download, Canva offers three different file types you can choose from:

  • JPG
  • PNG
  • PDF

JPG and PNG

These files are great for downloading designs on the web, and will look sharp and crisp on most computer displays. JPG and PNG files are also relatively small in size, so they are perfect for emailing and posting online.

PDF

Ideal if your design will be viewed in print. Choosing PDF: For print will be ideal for when printing on most types of paper, vinyl, and fabric. PDF files can become quite large, so they are not the ideal format for sharing and posting online. Before having your design professionally printed, be sure to read up on how to prepare your file for print.

If you are concerned about the resolution or the dots per inch (dpi) of each downloadable format, please have a look at the following article:

Thanks for reaching out to us, I'd be glad to clarify this with you!

You can download your designs into JPGPNG, and PDF files. The ideal file type for a specific design depends on where the design will be viewed. More information can be found in the following Help Center article:
