Whenever you use elements from Canva’s image library, even free elements, they come with a One Time Use License Agreement or Multi Use License Agreement. One part of that agreement is that you may not edit designs after they’ve been published and downloaded. This is to protect the contributors of our image library, and it’s also how we can pass on such incredibly low prices to our users.
If you’d like to edit a Canva design after it’s been published, you can make any changes in Canva. If you edit your design within 24 hours of publishing, you can even publish and download your design again without paying for any premium elements in your design. If your design only uses elements that you created and uploaded yourself, you may download and edit your design any way you wish.
Thanks for your message and for using Canva!
