Are you getting an error message when you download a design with a transparent background in Canva? This article will help troubleshoot this issue.
Note: The download with transparent background feature is only available to Canva for Work users.
Below are some steps you can follow to help you download your design.
Method 1: Make sure your design has saved correctly
Ensure that your design is properly saved by clicking on File and choosing Save. You’ll see the status as “All Changes Saved”.
Once your design has saved, refresh your page and try to download the design again. If the design is not appearing correctly or any elements look corrupted, your design may not download.
Method 2: Change the dimensions of your design
Slightly changing your design’s measurement may also help resolve the issue, and allow you to download with a transparent background. You can do this by choosing Change Dimensions from the File menu.
If you choose custom dimensions, you’ll now be able to slightly adjust the size of your design.
Try increasing or decreasing the height of your design by 1 pixel.
Method 3: Re-upload any images in your design
If issue persists, please send us a report here.

Dimensions that cause problems:
- A width of 150 will cause it regardless of the height.
- Heights that are odd multiples of 10 and odd multiples of 10 +1 will cause it regardless of the width eg. 50, 51, 70, 71, 90, 91
